Dynasylan® 6498

Dynasylan® 6498 by Evonik acts as an adhesion promoter, dispersing agent and hydrophobing agent. It is a colorless, nearly odorless, low-viscosity liquid containing vinyl and ethoxy groups. Exhibits high boiling point and high flash point. Shows improved filler dispersion, good processability, significantly reduced water-uptake, excellent balance between tensile strength and elongation at break at a high level. Also exhibits improved chemical resistance, strongly reduced tendency to stress cracking, higher impact strength and higher abrasion resistance. Offers reduced amount of released hydrolysis ethanol (VOC) compared to monomeric vinyl silanes. It is also an excellent compatibilizer between inorganic fillers [kaolin, MDH (magnesium dihydroxide) and ATH (aluminum trihydroxide)] and organic polymers [EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) and PE (polyethylene)]. Dynasylan® 6498 is suitable for pigment-based coatings.
