Dynasylan® 1189

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Evonik
Dynasylan® 1189 by Evonik acts as an adhesion promoter and surface modifier. It is a bifunctional silane possessing a reactive secondary amine and hydrolyzable methoxysilyl groups. It can bind chemically to both inorganic materials (glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (thermosets, thermoplastics and elastomers). It provides improved flexural strength, tensile strength, impact strength and modulus of elasticity. Offers improved moisture- & corrosion resistance, filler dispersion, higher filler loading and rheological behavior like reduction in viscosity. Dynasylan® 1189 is also used as a primer for improving the adhesion of paints and coatings to the substrate. It is suitable for polymers such as epoxy, PU, PA, PBT, EVA, modified PP and silicones. The recommended dosage level for substrate pretreatment is 0.52%. It has a shelf life of at least one year.
