RHEOLATE® 288

RHEOLATE® 288 by Elementis is a non-ionic associative, highly efficient thickener for waterborne haze-free architectural and industrial coatings. It is a polyether polyurethane solution in a mixture of water and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether. It provides very good clarity in clear coats, highly efficient viscosity build at low and medium shear rates. Its shear thinning (pseudoplastic) flow gives very good high-shear rate application performance i.e. spray, brush, roller coat, blade coat. It is cost-effective and offers good flow and leveling. RHEOLATE® 288 is used for applications like latex emulsions, dispersions and water reducible clear-coats and high gloss pigmented systems, spray, dip and curtain coatings. Other applications include wood clear-coats and floor coatings, wood furniture, kitchen cabinet, metal top coats, and high gloss coatings/clear-coat finishes. Its recommended dosage level is 0.2-2.0%. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
