DOWSIL™ 18 Additive

DOWSIL™ 18 Additive by Dow is a non-reactive, high-molecular-weight, polydimethyl siloxane dispersion containing no volatile solvent. Imparts slip, mar-resistance and anti-blocking properties. Shows compatibility with acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, polyester, polyurethane and vinyl. DOWSIL™ 18 Additive provides "hand" to leather, "wet look" to fabric coatings and reduced friction as well as wear to castable urethanes. DOWSIL™ 18 Additive is used in solvent-based paints, water-based wood coatings- & flexographic inks, and high-solids & solvent-less inks. It is effective at low concentrations ranging from 0.05 to 0.5 weight percent or as high as 1.0 to 3.0 weight percent based on total formulation. It has a shelf life of 21 months.
