Emulsogen® EPN 217 by Clariant is an APEO-free, low VOC (less than 1%) oxoalcohol polyethylene glycol ether with 11 mole ethylene oxide (fatty alcohol polyglycol ether). Acts as an non-ionic emulsifier. It reduces grit level and improves the dispersion properties such as freeze-thaw-, electrolyte- and sheer stability. This clear, colorless liquid is inherently biodegradable. It is readily dissolved in water without forming a strong gel phase. Emulsogen® EPN 217 is suitable for label-free polymerization of pure acrylic, styrene acrylic, vinyl acetate and styrene butadiene. Complies with 21 C.F.R US FDA regulations. It is listed in AICS, EINECS, DSL, ENCS, IECSC, KECI, NECI, NZloC, PICCS and TSCA.
