Firebrake® 500

Firebrake® 500 by U.S. Borax (Rio Tinto) is dehydrated zinc borate-based flame retardant and smoke suppressant for coatings.

Contains no water of hydration. It can be used in systems requiring very high processing temperatures.
It can be fed to extruders, calanders and injection molding equipment.
It shows compatibility with polyetherketone, polysulfone, fluoropolymer, polyester and nylon.
Offers very significant beneficial effect on rate of heat release, a quality that is of special interest in aircraft applications.
Firebrake® 500 is stable at 600°C and can gradually absorb surface moisture store in sealed container.
