Afcona -4531

Afcona -4531 by Afcona Additives is a high molecular weight modified polyacrylic polymer. Acts as a dispersant for deflocculation of all type of pigments. Through effective steric hindrance and electrostatic repulsion an excellent stability performance on all type of pigments is given. Offers very good compatibility to difficult polar systems such as NC, wash primer, etc. Not recommended for manufacturing of resin free pigment concentrate. Afcona -4531 should be pre-neutralized before it can be completely soluble in water. Before adding to the mill base, it should be neutralized up to pH 8.5 - 9.0 and complete water-solubility will be obtained by e.g. addition of 8.5% AMP 95. Addition and dosage: Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment: TiO2 : 2 - 3%, Other inorganic pigments : 2 - 4%, Organic pigments : 20 - 40%, Carbon blacks : 20 - 60%.
